Roy Shaw is 2019 Swiss Karting Champion, Super-Mini category, for drivers aged 8 to 12 .

Roy won the Swiss National Karting Championship in 2019 with 3 poles, 8 race victories, five times 2nd and twice 3rd out of 18 races over the six championship weekends. In his first full season in IAME EuroSeries Roy finished in 13th place out of 57 drivers from 15 countries, putting Switzerland in 6th place ahead of France, Germany and Italy. As a 6 year-old Roy started in Bambino Club at Buckmore Park, and won races in their Junior Club. He has finished on the podium at Whilton Mill, and a 4th place at Kimbolton in his 3 UK race entries as IAME cadet. In 2018 Roy won the Kappelen Trophy series, and became Vega Trofeo champion, qualifying him for the IAME World Finals at Le Mans, where he finished 2nd in the 'B' final; again at Le Mans in 2019 Roy was 22nd of the best 70 drivers from 28 countries.

In 2020 Roy moved up to the Junior class with an adult size chassis and a 125cc motor, double the capacity of his X30 mini motor. He had already demonstrated his speed and potential after only 3 days in this category of kart, by finishing on the podium of the last Vega Trofeo race of the 2019 season at Château Gaillard (Ain, France). He battled with the 3 championship leaders for the win, and finished ahead of the new champion, who is also 2019 Swiss National Champion, and had already been 2018 champion in both championships.

Roy's ambition is to be a businessman, entrepreneur and/or IT expert, and to obtain suitable qualifications at a top University like ETH.
