Unofficial practice, Thursday 13th February 2020

The team had built a new chassis, ready for Thursday morning, with a seat recommended by TonyKart.

Unfortunately it was 4cm too high for Roy, so in Practice 1 his elbows were hitting the seat in the turns...

That was corrected for Practice 2, but half-way through the motor had a problem, not accelerating out of the pits corner.

We changed engines for Practice 3, the team brought him in for new tyres, when he went out he only got 3 laps...

In Practice 4 he started well, then on lap 3 was taken out on turn 1 at 110 km/h. He almost saved it, and managed to stop it less than 1m from the barrier, so it could have been a lot worse for him and the €6’000 new chassis...

So he was off the pace, maybe 0.5 seconds behind his times in practice, which will make qualifying difficult. We’ll see what he can do...
