Our 8-13 class drivers would start us off in style with Ben Cooke jumping into the lead as the lights flash to green, he was not alone as Mikey Porter made the move for second against Ruairi Stapleton at the end of lap 2. Joining the fast starters to make it a three way fight would be Roy Shaw who had come from the back row, made even more impressive as he hadn’t raced with us since November! He would in fact make it all the way up to 2nd after some nice moves to finish ahead of Cooke and just 0.2 behind our race 1 winner Porter.
Onto heat 6 and hard charging Lion Elliot and Beau Sullivan come from row 3 and 4 to battle it out for the win, both drivers setting 33 second lap times while everyone else are in the mid 34’s! with 2 laps to go Sullivan gets the upper hand but only just beats Elliot crossing the line 0.1 ahead , lower down we had yet another close finish as Luke Smith chased Roy Shaw across the line for 3rd and 4th just 0.022 behind.
Heat 9 and a dominating win from Roy Shaw, started pole and never looked back winning by nearly 10 seconds.
For the Final pole sitter Roy Shaw was Favourite but with Beau Sullivan and Leon Elliot 2nd and 3rd on the grid he was never going to have it his own way. It was in fact a three way fight behind Shaw , and while Elliot, Sullivan and Mikey Porter traded blows Shaw would go into hammer time ( one for you Hamilton fans ..Jess) and pull out a 3 second lead. By the end Shaw would win by just under 4 seconds, Sullivan was 2nd, Elliot 3rd with Porter just beating Will Ovenden to 4th.
